St Paul’s church, Walkden is an Anglican church in the diocese of Manchester.
In terms of ‘worship tradition’, we are described as ‘middle of the road’ in contrast to a ‘high church’ (eg. Anglo Catholic) or ‘low church’, sometimes referred to as ‘evangelical’ or ‘happy clappy’.
Each Sunday we hold a traditional Communion Service at 8am (short service, no hymns) and also at 10:30am. Twice a month there is a sung Eucharist with choir and hymns. On the first Sunday of each month we celebrate with an All Age Service where young and old worship together. On the other Sunday we have morning prayer
Children are welcome and can join Junior Church from the age of 5. We also have ACTS – Adults and Children Together for children 2 to 5.
We have a PA system to ensure everyone can hear. After the service all are welcome to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee at the back of church.
